About The Educator
|
CoCoah began braiding at the age of five while watching
her mother braid her sister's hair. By age thirteen CoCoah began braiding
intricate styles, as well as "names" in ones head. By fifteen she was able
to weave and add commercial hair pieces undetectably. By the late 1970's
CoCoah had mastered every weave and braid technique available and any style
she saw, including the elaborate ones she created herself! Thus, earning the
name of the "Black Widow" for her skill in weaving. She soon began to "Weave"
herself a "Web" of Fortune!
After graduating high school early, CoCoah pursued a formal education in cosmetology
and ranked in the top 3 percentile of her graduating class and also received the
Distinguished Achievement Award for excellence in Cosmetology and earned an ANVQ
Certification. After graduating and obtaining her cosmetology license, she went to
work for Dr. Willie Morrow, founder of the California Curl Academy and Research
Laboratories, who also invented the "first" cold wave for African Americans.
CoCoah furthered her knowledge by obtaining training from several African Hair Care
Associates on the east cost. CoCoah later went on to become the assistant
manager of a multi-cultural salon and was the exclusive consultant for California
Curl products and Technical Advisor for the salon which launched her career as a hair
educator. She has also been "manipulating" natural hair for more than 25 years
and is known as one of San Diego's top Locticians and Natural Hair Care Specialists.
If you are one of the lucky ones accepted to
become a "personal" client she will make you "happy 2 B nappy" and perm free!
In 1988, CoCoah opened her own "private" salon - CoCoah's Image Artistry and began
"weaving" positive images for body builders, models, dancers, actors, and entertainers,
as well as professionals of all backgrounds and ethnicities. She currently works as an
Expert Consultant on commercial human and synthetic hair pieces while also working for
Extreme Salon and Day Spa of La Jolla as Salon Manager and Artistic Director as well as
Educator for natural hair care and weave augmentations. She will now do what has
not been done on the West Coast - anywhere..... provide "Advanced" Technical instructions
in Ethnic and Multicultural hair augmentation, thus, creating the "Black Widow's Hair Web".
